This Privacy Policy explains how StoryCanvas (“we,” “us”) handles information when you use StoryCanvas, including our website, apps, and related services (the “Services”).

Information We Collect

• Account Data: name, email (or parent/guardian email), optional profile photo.
• User Content: stories, images, audio, and other content you create or upload; saved books and settings.
• Service/Usage Data: basic device info, app events, crash logs, performance metrics. We avoid collecting precise location.
• Support: messages you send us.

How We Use Information

• Provide and operate the Services (sign-in, generation, saving, sync).
• Improve safety and reliability (moderation, abuse prevention, troubleshooting).
• Product improvements using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
• Service communications (no third-party advertising).

AI & Third-Party Providers

We use AI services (e.g., Google and OpenAI) to power story, image, and audio generation. When you use these features, your prompts and relevant context may be transmitted to those providers so they can return results. Where available, we request settings that disable training on your data. Processing by each provider is also governed by their own terms and policies.

When We Share Information

• Service Providers/Sub-processors: hosting, authentication, databases, AI providers—to run the Services.
• Legal/Compliance: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or integrity.

We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate purposes (security, legal compliance). Saved books remain until you delete them or your account. We delete or de-identify data when no longer needed.
