Meritly - UPSC QuizQuest ("Meritly") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data in our competitive quiz environment.

Information We Collect

• Account Information: To create your account, we require a name, a profile picture, and authentication via Google Single Sign-On (SSO) or a phone number with OTP verification. This ensures a secure and unique identity for every competitor.
• Quiz & Performance Data: We collect and store all data related to your quiz performance. This includes your answers, scores, speed of response, and accuracy. This data is essential for calculating your rank and powering the leaderboard.
• Usage & Device Data: We log technical information such as app interactions, device metadata (OS, device type), and crash reports. This helps us diagnose issues, improve app performance, and ensure a stable user experience.

How We Use Your Information

• To Operate the Core Game Loop: Your account and performance data are used to facilitate 1v1 quiz matchmaking, calculate scores with speed bonuses, and determine the winner.
• To Foster Competition via Leaderboards: Your profile name, picture, and total accumulated score are displayed on public leaderboards (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) to create a competitive and engaging community.
• To Provide Post-Quiz Analysis: We use your quiz data to generate a detailed summary after each game, showing your answers, the correct answers, and explanations to aid in your revision.
• To Power Gamification: Your cumulative score is used to determine your rank and tier within the Meritly ecosystem (e.g., Aspirant, Scholar, Officer), providing a sense of progression.

Data Sharing & Public Information

The competitive nature of Meritly requires that certain information is public. Your profile name, profile picture, total score, and rank are visible to all users on the leaderboards. We do not sell or rent your personal data. Limited information may be shared with trusted service providers for backend operations (e.g., cloud hosting) under strict confidentiality agreements.

Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your Meritly account and associated data at any time by emailing contact@coheronlab.com from the email address linked to your account. Please include the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. Once verified, all associated personal information will be permanently deleted or anonymized within 30 days, unless retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing our Terms).

If you created your account using Google or another sign-in provider, deleting your Meritly account will not affect your provider account itself.

Data Security

We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access. However, no digital platform can guarantee 100% security. You participate in the QuizQuest at your own risk.
